Install the Excel Add-in

The Sandspit Excel add-in pulls Procore data into Excel, lets you prepare it, and syncs it back. Install it from Microsoft Marketplace, sign in with Procore, and add a project.

Prerequisites

• The Sandspit Procore app installed for your company. See Install the Procore App first. Without it, sign-in works but no projects appear
• Microsoft Excel for Windows, Mac, or the web. Excel on iPad and phones is not supported
• A Procore account

Install

Click Get it now above, or add it from inside Excel: on the Home tab choose Add-ins, search for Sandspit, and add it. No manifest file is needed.

Excel adds a Sandspit button to the Home tab. Click it to open the task pane.

Sign in

1. Click Sandspit on the Home tab
2. Click Sign in with Procore. A Procore window opens
3. Authorize Sandspit. The window shows Signed in with Procore and closes on its own

Your session lasts 30 days. If Procore access expires, the task pane shows Procore authorization expired with a Reconnect to Procore button. To sign out, open the tool switcher at the top of the pane and choose Sign out.

Add a project

The first time in, the project list is empty.

1. Click Add project
2. Choose your Company. Only companies where the Sandspit Procore app is installed are listed
3. Search for the Procore project and click Add and select

Added projects appear in Choose project from then on. A workbook works with one project at a time. See Workbooks and projects.

Set up a tool

The task pane home, Choose a workbook tool, lists the tools by group. The first time you open a tool in a workbook, Sandspit asks to set it up:

1. If shown, click Sync setup to pull the project's field options and vendors
2. Click Set up [tool]. Sandspit adds the sheets the tool needs

A padlock on a tool means you lack the Procore permission it needs, and the reason is shown, for example Needs Standard on Budget. Tools that are off for your company don't appear at all.

Troubleshooting

• No Sandspit button: close and reopen Excel after installing. If your Microsoft 365 admin restricts add-ins, ask them to allow Sandspit
• "No Sandspit projects found": add a project. If no company appears when adding, the Procore app isn't installed for your company yet
• "You don't have access to any projects in this company on Procore": ask your Procore admin to add you to the project
• "No workbook tools are enabled for this company": email [email protected]
• "This workbook was set up with a newer version of the Sandspit add-in": update the add-in, then reload the task pane
• The pane says to close and reopen it: Office didn't finish loading. Close the pane and click Sandspit again
