Bulk edit Procore manual forecast line items from Excel

Procore itemizes the manual forecast inside each budget line. Put every line item on one sheet, fill quantities and unit costs down, and sync.
Procore stores the manual forecast as line items inside each budget line, edited through one line’s panel at a time. Pull every line item on the project into one Excel sheet, add rows for the codes with no forecast, fill the month’s quantities and unit costs down, review the changed rows, and sync. Only what changed is sent.
Pull every manual forecast line item into one sheet
Open Manual Forecast in the Sandspit task pane, choose the budget view, and click Pull from Procore. Every itemized manual entry on every budget line lands on one sheet, sorted by budget code, with description, quantity, unit, unit cost, and a live amount.
Find the budget codes with no forecast yet
Switch the task pane to Coverage. It lists every budget code that has no manual forecast line. Tick the ones that should, click Add codes, and Sandspit adds a blank row per code ready to fill.
Update quantities and unit costs in bulk
This is now spreadsheet work. Paste the month’s remaining quantities from the schedule. Fill a revised unit cost down a trade. Amount recalculates in the sheet as quantity times unit cost, and every changed cell is highlighted against what you pulled.
Watch out: budget code is locked on pulled rows. To move a forecast to a different code, add a new row and delete the old item in Procore.
Review the changes
The task pane lists each changed row under Ready to sync with before and after values, and anything blocked under Needs attention. Any error blocks the whole sync, so clear those first.
Sync
Click Sync 48 changes to Procore. Only rows that changed are sent, one at a time with live progress. Existing items update in place and new rows create new items. On completion Sandspit re-pulls so the sheet matches Procore.
Watch out: Sandspit does not check whether someone else changed the same line in Procore since your pull. On a shared budget, refresh before a big sync.
Why the month-end forecast takes an afternoon
Forecast to Complete is the number that makes Estimated Cost at Completion trustworthy, and it goes stale every month. Updating it means opening each budget line, opening its forecast panel, and adjusting the items one by one. Sixty lines is sixty panels, and nothing about the sixtieth needs more thought than the first.
What the flat sheet changes
- All lines at once. Every item across every budget code, sorted, in one table.
- Excel does the bulk edit. Paste, fill down, recalculate. No per-line panel.
- Coverage is visible. The codes with no forecast are a list, not something you notice by scrolling.
- Procore stays the record. Changed rows are reviewed, then written back as the same line items.

What is a manual forecast in Procore?
One of the Forecast to Complete methods on a budget line. With Itemized Manual Entry, you add line items with a description, quantity, unit, and unit cost, and they sum to the line’s forecast to complete. Procore shows them inside one budget line at a time.
Is this Procore Advanced Forecasting?
No. This tool works with the manual line items on the Budget tool. It does not touch the Forecasting tab, curves, or monthly spreads.
Can I delete a forecast line from Excel?
Not in the current release. Deleting a row in the sheet removes it locally and it comes back on the next pull. Delete line items in Procore.
What permission do I need?
Standard or Admin on the project’s Budget tool. Read Only can pull a budget with Budget Review but cannot sync forecast changes.
A budget code is missing from the dropdown.
It has no budget line. Procore rejects a forecast item against a code that is not budgeted, so Sandspit leaves those codes out. Add the line in Procore, or at zero dollars from Budget Review’s missing lines panel, then refresh the picklists.
